We recently added a couple of live plants to our tank, and after a few days i noticed something stuck to the glass and it looks like a baby snail we didnt worry to much cos we though hey its a free snail :) but now we have noticed 3 others and we dont want our tank to be over run with them, so how can we get rid of them if we have to many?

Snails rapidly populating in a tank is commonlty due to excess food being around.

The easiest way would be to cut back on what you are feeding your fish, and you will see a dramatic slow-down in the population.
:good:

If you want to get rid of the all together. Put a piece of lettuce in the tank, and wait a few hours, and then the snails should be on the lettuce. YOu can then remove it, and BAM, you got rid of the snails.

Haha, that made me feel like Emeril.

I also had this problem recently,

but snails in the 100's lol.
They don't cause any problems being in the tank but they can get out of control really quickly.

I got an assassin snail first, i only got one to see how he got on, he defiantly munched on some of them but i would have needed an army of assassin's to keep the regular snails under control.

Then i decided to change from gravel to sand to keep my bottom feeders happy, this is when i realized just how many snails i had, the substrate swap got rid of most to them but they began to rapidly reproduce in the new setup.

A week or so ago i got 3 zebra loach, 24 hours later, the pest snails were extinct.
I haven't seen another since.
luckily my lone assassin snail was totally ignored by the loach for some reason.

Yeah, I'd say maybe try getting a snail eating loach :) But, the problem is your tank size. A red tailed zebra loach will do the trick and wont grow above 3" :)

So many fish love to eat snails. All my American cichlids love them, so do my tetras, plecos, and even betta. I had snails in my 55 gal before I added any fish. But after I added my pleco and blue acara I never saw one again.

Intact my fish love them so much I got some for free at the pet store to feed my fish. Now I have them in my fry tank they are breeding and I'm happy about it. More live food for my fish.
