This may be a dumb question -- I have two bettas in 2.5 gallon tanks, but the tanks don't have filters or airstones or anything at the moment.

I wanted to add an apple snail to each tank -- will they be ok with no air-source? (If not, I guess I'll have to pick up a couple of those Azoo mini palm-filters -- would that be ok?)

Hi mandi :)

Snails do fine without aeration or filtration. As long as you provide adequate food for him, he will be happy under the same conditions that keep your betta healthy. :D

Oh great! :) I just ordered some really lovely apple snails online (I couldn't resist) and it mentioned on the site that she "always includes extras" when she sends them -- and I was trying to figure out where I'd put them all depending on how many "extras" come! ;) I got 1 each of light-purple, jade, and chestnut, I can't wait to see them -- until I found that site, I had no idea snails could be so pretty.

mandi, could you share that site with us? i'd like to see what other color variations are out there :)

Yup that would be the site I ordered from! I found it reccomended on another site (can't remember where).

I got one "Light Striped Purple Apple Snail" (top left corner), 1 jade (3rd down, left column), and 1 chestnut (bottom, left column). I was tempted to get a few others -- they're all so lovely!

(I'm hoping the "extras" that are sent might be a mixture haha)
