Snails & 10gal Tank

Hey.

Heating: Colder water will make snails enter in a ''sleepy mood'' and it will make them very slow and inactive. Try to avoid temparatures below 18°C/65°F beacuse the mortality rate will increase. Warmer waters will make your snails a bit faster and more active. They will eat faster, creep around faster and eventually grow faster. If you want your snails to reproduce you defenetly need warm water and a lot of food. I would place a heater in you tank

Filter: is not that important if you only have a few snails. If you are going to put fish (or already have) i would put on a filter. snails don't make a lot of mess, just make sure to do regular water change... Good luck!!!! ;) :good:

I have to disagree, snails make a lot of mess. Apple snails in particular are crap machines.

Yep have to agree with T here, i have 3 apple snails in a 180ltr tank and they seem to make more mess than the 3 BN's the reside in the tank, obviously smaller mess but seems a hell of alot more lol

OK I admit. Either i'm not looking good enough between my rocks or is it that i'm not feeding them enough food and that's why i don't see too much waste....... anyway if more than 2 people say that snails do make a lot of waste then that must be true... sorry :(
