Snail Problem?

Because they grow huge (around a foot long) and are social, so need to be in groups of at least six and preferably ten. You're talking about having a tank that is at least 5x2x2' to keep a group relatively comfortably, and most people don't have that kind of space or money.

There are far better ways of getting rid of snails than buying fish that the average hobbyist can't house adequately.

Just a hint - if you decide to get Assassin Snails or keep pet snails be sure your aquarium lid is on tight and that there are no possible spaces for them to escape through. You wouldn't want them getting back into the wild.

Anyway, I think snails are awesome. I vote for your obtaining some Assassin Snails and letting them handle the problem. Assassins don't breed so fast so you won't be replacing one snail problem with another.

Besides, a few snails are pretty cool, right?

Well I want the 2 snails that I have but I don't really want any more so what do I do?!

I'm afraid there's no way of stopping them breeding. What kind of snails are they?

Ah, well apple snails are easy; they lay their eggs above the water line, so you just scrape them off and put them in boiling water or the freezer to kill them before they hatch.
