i bought four new black mystery snails yesterday. i put one in each of my fish tanks. one of them today i found floating at the top of the tank. i removed it and put it in some water and left it alone. as the night has approched it has jumped back to life, i gave it some food and it seems to be eating. is there something going on wrong with it or is this typical mystery snail behavor?
its in a heated tank with a single female betta.

I would post in tropical discussion about the snail more members go over there.
Check to see if his shell has any damage or cracks.

Apple snails do this sometimes. It happens a lot if you move them between tanks, or if you have a bubble stone, but mine do it occasionally with neither of those factors - they'll get a bit of air in their shell and float until they can "burp" it out. Never seems to hurt them - I just hold them under and turn their shell upside down, then release them and they're fine.
