i found this guy in my tank. sitting proudly in the corner of my tank.
he must have hijacked in on some plants and been hiding.

but what is he? is he a ramshorn? if so i'll keep him for now, got an algae outbreak going on and he might give me a hand.

Looks like a Planorbis or Planorbells species of some sort. It's a Planorbid ramshorn at any rate and will eat your algae if it's not stiff filamentous algae. Planorbids will eat soft algaes but arn't really big enough to handle the thicker hair algaes that occur sometimes. You may more show up if it mated prior to hitchhiking into your tank.
