So I was doing the daily feeding for the bettas. . .

Checking in on them and found that I have fries!!! OMG!! I was freaking out. . . .

I noticed that the male hadn't been eating for a couple days. . . checked his nest and everything looked normal except black specs - but didn't think anything of it.

And then this morning I saw this:

Now I'll admit I'm a complete newbie at this - so I doubt a many will survive as I didn't even know they were there. :/

But we all have newbie mistake eh! :look:

So I'm off to get fry food and hatch like crzy!!!

THANKS WUV!!!

:-( dont understand how you didnt know they were there. I need the whole story with piccies. Once upon a time.........

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats girl!!

ETA~ It's funny that the smaragdina bred for you before the mahachai did, I've never even seen so much as a bubble nest in the smarrie community tank. They must have been itching for some alone time :hey:

Honestly ppl I'm stumbled into this. . .

Wuv & Cracker can be judges!! Awhile back I thought there were eggs but I was wrong. Then today I got to feed them and whatta ya know. . fries!!

Ran to the lfs to get supplies as I wasn't ready or anything. . . for food wise!

I'm going to move the fry out now into a 25gal and hopefully some will survive. . .

Wish me luck guys!!

GOOD LUCK! :D Just make sure the water is nice and aged, heated, and add some IAL if you have any. I'm sure you will have plenty of survivors. Liquifry is helpful when you have no food supply, and BBS in a week or so.

Also, I NEED a pair, so very badly. Put me on your list please!

might be easier to move the adults. what size tank is it?

That spawn of mahachai I had right before they left for your house is still in a 2.5 and they're what..two weeks old...ish? So don't worry if the tank is too small, it's better than moving such fragile beebee's.

Okay woman! I'll do it!!! I'll take out the adults.

But the male is sooo cute!! If there are wondering fry, he'll go get them and bring them back to the tank!!!

Most of them are in the I phase should I wait to take out the male? Or should I just do it now??

I personally think they'll all be okay together for a bit (tank size pending) ,but if you feel the need to move them, by all means- the adults. Or at least the mom for now. Dad *should eat normally and eat bbs with the fry.

*nothing is written in stone with bettas

Wuv just gave a really nice pair :good:

I know exactlly how you feel Sukie, the excitement and everything.

Keep us updated and again Congratulations Sukie... Crack is Wack lol
