Hi All,

I recently noticed a small white growth just below the eye of my clownfish. I initially thought it was Ich, but there are no other affected areas. Just this one spot. Anyone has any ideas what it might be and how it can be cured?

a pic can help alot is it near its mouth if it is it could be cotton mouth but plz post a pic

Yeah, pics pretty much required, could be a parasite or worm too

Just upload an image to imageshack or photobucket etc. Then use the feature.

If you want to, try this. catch him then set him on a very wet (with water from the tank) and clean paper towel. then take a clean q-tip and see if it brushes off, dont be brutal, you can really injure him. if it does than you can put him back into your tank and he should be fine, also a swab of iodine over the spot would be good and neccecary. I'm just saying this because my clown once had something just like that by his dorsal fin, and i did this, and it never came back... It wasnt cancerous because it was too soft and too white. But if you do this, try to do it as quickly as possible :) im not really sure cuz the pics are a little blurry but it looks like it is something in the scales not on top so this might not work, but if it doesnt brush off then you probably have a parasite...
