Small Fish, Big Tank

Hi - I was thinking about what I could do with a standard 180 US gallon tank in the way of mini oddballs

I was thinking about a 'shoal' of ABF and dwarf snakeheads - but then the brain rapidly ran out of ideas lol


any suggestions?

In a tank that size, a big shoal of humphead glassfish would look awesome 8)

And I carn't think of anything else at the moment

But you never get people suggesting these.

ABF= African Butterfly fish
It is in the Fish Forum Index if you have never seen them before. I think they are very interesting fish and am planning to get 2 for my 55 gallon soon!

Smaller eels would be really cool, go for 2 from each species, like the zebras, the half banded and the banded/yellow tails, they will interact well with eachother too...

could you give me a bit more info on them? I haven't really looked at spiny eels

Yeh, 6 would get along fine. With the snakeheads, I have found with mine that he leaves everything alone if it doesent look like him, so the barbs, ABF, Archer, Snakefish and Goby are all fine, just minor lunges at them so they know who is boss. However, he does start fights with the Climbing Perch who look pretty similar, and he is growing a lot faster than them so I dont think its going to be long before he starts doing serious damage.
What are you classing as small anyway? 6" and smaller?

OK so:

1 or a shoal of ABF
6 or so angelfish
1 channa bleheri OR a few senegal birchirs


that's what I'm looking at atm, this tank was meant to be cheaper stock than a monster tank but that's not happening lol
