Can anyone tell me what is causing this i have a 60l tank that i change 20% of the water once a week

How long has the tank been set up.
Is the filter causing the bubbles.

I get those bubbles too and ive bee wondering if it has something to do with my water ( im pretty sure its just my filter )

Sometimes when I do a water change 1 day late bubbles start to appere.

I have the same issue in my 75lt but how full is your tank? It should be at max level as its the same principal as squirting a hose on the surface of the water and leaves a steam of bubbles but if the hose is under water its all clear with no bubbles, i have topped up my tank to the max and will give a day or so too see if it has cleared its self?

Do you have bettas or gouramis in there? These fish make bubblenests...you might be seeing remnants of one if you have these fish! Usually means they're quite happy :good:

Bubbles on the water surface in my case were caused by an oily film on the water surface. I traced the oily film back to my feeding bloodworms. As soon as I stopped feeding bloodworms, I no longer noticed the film on the water and subsequently, the bubbles disappeared.

Sometimes the bubbles will still appear if I have gone longer than a week between water changes. Bubbles should quickly pop on the surface of the water, if they remain, it's likely time to do a water change.

Some people say that having more surface agititation will help prevent the film from occurring, but in my case, the film produced by the bloodworms was not affected by agititating the water surface.

Should have added too, sometimes I've noticed with Melafix it creates a lot of bubbles. Probably because it makes a film, like Bullrock74 said. Also, I've noticed different water conditioners can make bubbles sometimes - e.g. I find Stress Coat bubbles a little when I'm filling a bucket, although that in particular settles down very quickly...

Could still be my first theory two posts up though!

ive got an internal tetra filter that ive just changed the cartridge inside which i think could be it and i use the tetra conditoners. i also have a betta
