My new guy Skylar (the white WM boy) is just laying at the bottom of his tank and hasn't eaten anything since he came home.

Any suggestions to perk my beautiful boy up?

EDIT- Also I just looked at him, and he seems to have a rip out of his tail, wasn't there when I bought him...?

Since he is such a light color it may be hard to spot things such as ick or fungus. I recommend grabbing a magnifying glass and a flash light for a full look over. Also check bettatalk.com for a nice list of things to check for and treatments. Please let us know how he is doing.

Haha! I just read this and I'm like, "What the f-?" :grr:

Then I realized you were talking about the betta!

When did you get him? If it was one day to 5 days ago, he might still be settling into his new environment. Keep his lights off a little longer than usual and feed him some yummy betta food (live bloodworms!!). He might just be a little stressed. Try putting some aquarium salt in there.

P.S Btw, I love your betta's name. :p

HTH,
Skylar

LOL Skylar!!!!!

I've had him for about 4 days now, I will add some salt and get some bloodworms tonight if I get a chance to head to the LFS.

Thanks!
