Skin Coming Off?

Hi

Thought I would add another post as an update and also for some more advice. Sorry I don't know how to link post into this one.

If you havnt seen my original post what happened was my silver shark got stuck in an ornament and was wriggling around . We managed to free him however he damaged some scales.

After adding the stresscoat the next day I went to my fish shop and asked them for advice and they recommended some treatment that also stops infections which I have added to the tank too.

The shark is still swimming around however I have noticed the scales/skin that where damaged look as though they are peeling off and hanging on just.

Is there anything I can do for this or should it hopefully heal itself soon.

What was the treatment the lfs offered you, I find for this kind of damage I always use melafix. I had a similar case with a scissor tail when I was young it burnt itself on a heater. I would say add melafix keep a very close eye on the water perameters and it should heal itself. There scales coming off is like a scab old ones have to 'drop off' before new ones can grow. Hope this helps

They gave me myxazin which treats a lot of infections also body rot fine rot etc.

It does look like its getting better like you say like an old scab coming off with new scales underneath.
