So I just bought the Aquanano 25 (12L 25cmx25cmx25cm).
The filtration is an integrated one and probably better than my 120L because it has more media.

Anyway, is this tank big enough for a betta. I'd hate to put a betta in something too small.

The tank has sand substrate and is planted and I'm probably going to add a small branch of bog wood.

Thanks! :)

I have 2 bettas in separate 3.5 gallon tanks. That is close to 12L I think? Honestly, as a person who used to keep bettas in a small unheated bowl or vase...this was a huge upgrade. However, I would do anything to put my bettas in a 5-10 gallon planted and plan to very soon. If you are set on the 12l then maybe research some and pick the betta very carefully. Maybe one without longer fins like a halfmoon. Longer fins, in a small amount of water has always been a tough road for me.

Yes thats 13L. I have already bought it as it fits my room. Well thank you for the info. :)

Imho, 12L would be a little small. Personally, I wouldn't put bettas in anything less than 5 gallons (mines in a 7.4 and I wouldn't want to see him in much less). When I upgraded my bettas 15l tank to 28l, I was amazed at the difference in his behaviour.
I'm sure 12L could work though, and the planted idea sounds nice. When you think about it though, it's a lot nicer than many other bettas get. It'll be a lot better than a tiny cup in a pet store :good:

I'd say it was too small if bettas were commonly housed in actual aquariums, but I get blasphemed by customers at work by putting sickly betta fish into the quieter main tanks saying that they're too uncomfortable outside of the little vases and crap people usually keep them in. I'm sure by putting them in a 12 liter tank is just saving a fish from being put in a vase or pink plastic container to die of ammonia poisoning.

At 12 litres you have what I would consider a bare minimum of room for a single male Betta splendens. It is big enough to be well filtered and have the temperature fairly stable. If you tried to keep them in a much smaller space, you would be doing daily water changes like a breeder does. That no longer would feel like a hobby but would become a chore. If it is your livelihood that is OK but we are hobbyists and should be able to relax and enjoy our fish instead.
