All I'm looking for (related to my sump post) is a simple self priming hang on the side tank overflow.

Everyone I see seems to be part of a skimmer so the industry can justify robbing you of £150 for a peice of plastic!

Then again hats off to the manufacturer of one hang on the side overflow unit that was just an overflow unig but cost £280 !!!! its just a peice of plastic!!! for crying out loud.

No wonder outsiders are put off having an aquarium.

For anyone who is interested, I'm working on producing the simplest of overflow designs using off the shelf items. The goal is to keep construction to a minimum (pref 30 mins or less) and require a minimum of skill and to keep costs down, pref to £20 or less.

Even now I can see that it can be done. I've already sourced a perfect acrylic box for the job thats just £1.14 per box, only two required.... a couple of brackets, short length of hose and a bulkhead .5" ID connector.

Post here if your interested, have suggestions or know of somewhere UK wise that has such an ideal solution.
