hi guys,
ive got a silver shark bout 4-5" n was wondering what to feed him, im feeding him flakes at the mo, ive got froozen blood worms but he cant really eat them as they're like hard pellets - he tries munching on them but cant manage to break them down. i use to have 4 n have only got 1 left n dont want him to die. he's not poorly at the moment though - just want him to fatten up abit

thanks alot

The best way to feed frozen bloodworms is to pop the cube into a little cup with a tiny amount of the tank water. Let them defrost for a minute or two in the cup, then with a pair of tweezers, add a pinch at a time to the tank - watching that each pinch of worms gets eaten. The defrosted worms will sink to the bottom of the tank and be soft enough for your shark to eat.

My sharks also like to nibble at algae wafers. Live food is also another treat for them (brine shrimp especially).

ps - hope you are aware that silver sharks grow to over a foot long - so unless you have some massive tank, best not have too many of them anyway. They need at least 6ft tank.

Yer, take note on the tank size. If you had 4, can I ask why the others died!?

thanks for the replies, ive got a 5ft tank, no idea why they died to be honest - they died one by one, it happens in my tank - one fish dies every 2 months of so but touch wood with the current set up havent had no issues for a long time now

It might be an idea to work out why fish keep dying before you add more. You read up on cycling?

yeah thats true, nah have no idea what cycling is - is there a link i can read or something

Plenty of info in the "New to the Hobby" section on the forums...

ive had the tank for over 2 years, will it still need to be done?
