Silver Arrowana?

We got a silver at the weekend, Its only young only around 3 inches long. My question is do silvers have markings and a greenish colour when young? It has an orange and black spot just behind its gill. Its also chunkier in depth than silvers iv seen.

I tried to take a picture but due to dodgy camera i couldnt get one in focus enough.

yeah sounds like a silver they are quite colourful when they are that small
hope you got a big old tank for that little monster

I agree with Cane about it been a silver and about having a big tank for the 20"+ monster

yeah, my silver has red fins (still young, but about 8in) , was scared to death that it was Septicemia but judging my his massive appitite and the fact hes had it for 3 months now, there are no problems.

I use to have a really really nice 8 inch silver arrowana that still had a really nice black and orange spot behind his gill but the next morning i found him on the floor
they like to escape so make sure you cover your tank good

luckily it happened when we were there
fish look so much bigger when they are out of water
