Here's one of my pair of Angels. They spawn every 10 to 14 days, this female was actually prepping a leaf to lay eggs on. Unfortunately the male prefers to eat them rather than to fertilise!!
The female angel measures appox. 7 inches from tip to tip, the male is slightly smaller. I have a planted 125 litre (28 US Gallons) (Juwel Rio 125) which is probably over stocked by traditional standards, I have the pair of Angels, 4 Gold Rams, 1 Blue Ram, 8 Cardinal Tetras, 8 Rummynose Tetras, 8 Otocinclus Affinis (brilliant algae eaters) and 2 Corydoras Julii. I have the standard Juwel internal filter with the carbon removed and extra bio sponge added supplementing my Fluval 204 external, again with carbon removed with added biological media, peat granules and RowaPhos to remove phosphates. My nitrates never exceed 20 ppm, normally stay around 10 ppm with a weekly 20% water change. CO2 injection obviously helps the plants and keeps the pH at around 6.8. I have a heater cable under my fine gravel which has laterite mixed in the bottom layer.
I was given the Angels by a good friend who kept them in an unsuitably small tank which they quickly outgrew, he never realised they were a pair.
