thinking about picking up a set of these...

to use for Repashi left overs from painting my sticks ( then I'd mix up a little extra ) I would think if I poured the extra, after it's mixed, into these trays, & either pit them in the refrigerator, or if needed, the freezer, they would pop out easily, and give me ready to feed cubes of previously mixed Repashi... anyone mix up extra, and save it for later???
 
I used something similar when I was raising baby brine shrimp to feed some of my angel fry. It worked good, and provided a bit of a buffer in case a hatch did not go right. You have to cover the surface because it will dry out pretty quick otherwise.
 
My repashy actually recommends this on the back of the bottle. I would cover the top with plastic wrap; it does dry out pretty quickly.

The bottle also says you can dry some large pieces in the oven to make a “jerky” that can go in the tank as a slow-release vacation food, and keeps for months in the fridge. Never tried that one though.

I'm thinking a reusable Zip style bag, in the gallon size, should hold & seal 2 trays... & would work just as well using the freezer, with stick blended pop corn shrimp, or similar...

and don't even get me started on home made super food cubes, the possibilities are endless, & making them up ahead works out for me, when I have time... even if you popped them out of the trays, and had a bunch of cubes in the plastic bags...

When we where young, My pops showed me how to make a mix of gelatin, multi color fish flakes, Spirulina and Flintstones vitamin.

Crazy stuff you might say... Just try it.
 
@Magnum Man, that Repashi stuff... How much heat does it need to stay liquid ?

Since I have much smaller tanks than you...

I'm still thinking of making some kind of home made lollies based on it. Instead of using a tree limb... lolll.

I pour my repashy in a shot glass. When it’s firm I pop it out and store it in the fridge in plastic wrap. I slice sections off like bologna and feed my fish.

A while back I made a homemade gelatin food, and I accidentally allowed it to dry...while it looked more like a crumble vs a jerky, my bottom feeders love it. The shrimp are all over it, and my cories were the first to dash towards it. Not sure how well it would work for surface-feeding fish, but I'm sure they'd figure something out ;)
