signs of a spike

are there any visible signs of water problems, i.e fish's antics etc (floating belly up is the obvious one!)
I've got no test kits and can't get to the lfs till friday afternoon, cause of work!

When in doubt do a water change.

What is tank size? Smaller the tank, the faster a problem can creep up on you!

it's only a 45 litre tank (i think that's about 11 us gallons), I did a water change on sunday (2 days ago)

That should be sufficient. All I am saying if you wont have test kits till friday, and you want to guaruntee that you will be problem free till this weekend 2 more this week wont hurt!

I wasn't being funny, I was just saying that it is only a small tank, I am new to this and will welcome any advice, two more water changes will be coming right up!!

Did the water changes, got the test kits, everything is spot on, fishies looking well.
