How would I go about starting this up?  Not looking to enter the comp but it's a great way recycling empty bottles.  What exactly do I need (except the bottle)?

soil and plants, maybe a spray bottle if humidity drops, you should enter the comp, its a bit of fun =]

iv used top soil and john innes no3 in mine

Ahh, brilliant... thanks.... last question (feel like a dummy really) any treatments needed like flora boost/plant food... and what about lighiting?  A windowsill since the bottle is plastic?

all iv done is added top soil and sat it in a green house, with damp soil, =]
