My male fancy guppy is hanging at the bottom of the tank near the heater...is he sick? he usually swims around a lot more.

And I have a female molly that looks slightly plump but I don't know if she's really pregnant... here:

Thanks for your help!

Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how many litres is the tank, plus stock list, if the female is with males yes more than likely she is pregnant.

I can't really say I can... he's with 2 other males and 1 other female plus 3 molly fish. The tank hold about 10g:

That's the tank.

Could you explain the other things to me ? I'm sorry.. I'm sort of a new beginner.

How long has the tank been set up, are you running a filter.

Yes, I have running a filter. You just can't see it from that view. It works fine lol. I set it up yesterday... I just bought that male yesterday :/

I'm very afraid. Now, the other fish have started acting quite weird as well...they seem to not move and stay close to the bottom and breathe fast. I think somethings terribly wrong!

When you set the tank up, when did you add the fish, as you are meant to wait a couple of days before you add fish, then the cycle will take its toll on fish, but i wouldn't of effected your to have barely started yet.

I set up the tank Wednesday and added fish Saturday... My mom says it isn't ammonia posioning because the tank is new and the fish are all clean and are in a clean enviorment.

UPDATE: The other fish are fine now, but my male guppy is still acting strange.

What the male doing, he probably wasn't in good shape when you bought him.

Yeah, well its a 2 week garantee so once he dies I'm going to get another molly instead.

Hey, how can you tell if two guppies are mating? I heard that the male guppy goes underneath her belly or something. My male guppies are doing that to some of the females but the females swim away quickly once he does it.

Just livebearers being livebearers the males are sex mad, lol.

I'm getting really frustrated at petsmart... the female molly I bought TODAY has just died... from DISEASE! I think...well it didn't look to well...It wasn't swimming with the other fish and was by the filter a lot so idk.

Sorry to hear about all the deaths. :(

In response to this question....

Yes, they tend to follow the female around for a while, then they wiggle, and poke poke...she's pregnant. Though male Guppies will go nip at the females' stomach area, around the gravid spot. The females give off pregnancy hormones that they like. If she is heavily pregnant though, sometimes they'll try to stress her out in order to make her abort her fry so they can eat them. :/

So kind of them, i think the females need to get tough with them, lol.
