sick platy

One of my platies has a round pinkish thing protruding from her anal area. she is acting healthy and having no trouble eating or swimming, however I found another platy dead in the tank this morning(maybe fungus). What is this thing and what should I do? Please help!

it's hard to diagnose it without actually seeing the fish. Can you decribe the symptoms in more detail? and try this site, maybe you'll find something http/www.fish-disease.com/diseases.htm

She is now swimming head downward, still has a large (in proportion to my little fish) pink bubble-like veiny growth coming from her abdomen, I've looked at many fish disease sites and found nothing similar.
