I have now noticed that I have a sick Opaline Gourami I appears that it has like a dirty white elisions on its body.

I have recently tested for ph ammonia nitrites and nitrates and all appeared fine. I keep the temperature of the tank at around 25 degrees C. I keep plecs, platys, gouramis, tetras, loaches, angels and corys in the tank also. I also do a 25% water changes every 2 weeks on the tank and clean the gravel once a month.

I have recently treated (treatment finished last wednesday) my corys as some of them lost their barbles and looked like they had an infection round their mouth. The treatment that I used is eSHa 2000 which is to treat Fungus, finroot and bacteria.

The gourami looks like it has lost alot of weight and is not eating like it usually does. My mum has kept fish before and she says this is not white spot but I'm still new to this and have not seen this before and have no idea what to do!! PLEASE HELP ME!!

Can you post your water parameters? It certainly sounds like a fungus...my red gourami had a similar illness and I was able to save it with antifungal meds. Any chance at a photo? Needs to be quarantined. SH

The dirty white marks can be parasite or bacterial, and if the cory lost there barbels it sounds bacterial, plus what did it look like around the mouth, fluffy appearance or red, the white on the back did it also come down the sides of the fish, also fish can lose weight with parasites like velvet.
How many gallons is the tank, plus you are not doing enough maintanance on your tank, you need to do a gravel vac and water change weekly.

I do use my gravel vac when I do the water change every two weeks to get the all the rubbish at the bottom of the tank and once a month give the gravel a good clean out. With the corys they ahd the red ring round their mouth. I treated with the eSHa 2000 (like I said before this treats Fungus, Finrot and Bacteria) and they have now lost this and looking alot better and more lively. The gourami was eating this morning which is an improvement from last night. Also my tank is a 260 litre roughly 55 gallon?!?

I just checked the water parameters before posting this and, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, pH between 6.5 and 7 and ammonia 0

Here is a picture of ma poor baby!!

If they have a red ring around there mouth is sounds like septicemia, i would remove the med out of the tank, with a 30% water change add some black carbon, then add anti internal bacteria med by interpet which is for septicemia, good luck.

Well the corys are back to there usual self and looking ALOT better :D which is great but yesterday my gourami lost his fight and died :rip: :-(

Sorry for your loss. :rip:
