Hi Guys,

First time posting on this forum but I've been into aquariums for a couple of years.

Anyway, the kissing gourami in my 55g planted tank isn't doing too well. He hasn't been eating for the past few days and just hangs around the bottom of my the tank. There appears to be some kind of infection in his head and mouth area. His lips and whole mouth look swollen and are discoloured light brown and he mostly keeps them clamped shut. Have a look at the pics to see what I mean.

All the other fish are fine so I doubt its a water quality problem. I do 40% water changes every week and my tank definitely isn't over stocked.

Anyone have some idea what this is and how to treat it?

Thanks.

Can you isolate the fish?
Has he been fighting?
Also check head area for indents the size of a pencil prick. Like pitted holes.
Is he also acting listless and lethargic?

It's hard to tell in the picture. Do the brown areas look fluffy like cotton wool?
