Sick Honey Gourami-lost colour and has some sort of growth?!

need better pictures.

it's not the gourami iridovirus and doesn't look like anchorworm either.

Is the fish still eating well?
What does its poop look like?

It is probably a bruise from a minor injury.

FYI, don't put chemicals in the tank unless you know what the problem is. All fish medications are poisonous and stress the fish to some degree. Try to find out what the problem is, then treat if necessary.

Who knew that fish could bruise :dunno:

She isn’t feeding properly and is spending all her time behind the filter kind of sitting leaning sideways on a plant leaf. Not sure about her poop. I only put in the medicine as my original thought was that it was some kind of fungus...
I’m not sure if I will be able to get better photos as her position means I can’t photograph her.
She seems to have quite laboured breathing and hasn’t moved all day.

It doesn’t really look like a bruise as it looks like some kind of black fungus thing is growing out through the scales

hey Alpha I wondered about a similar problem (black dark spot on his side) but on one of my neon tetras, after researching and finding nothing I witnessed my peacock goby attacking the same spot and it turned out it was a bruise but the goby had never been aggressive at all in the years prior, has your other Gourami ever showed territorial behaviour? the black fungus might be an infection from a wound, but im really not sure
