Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and so don't know if I'm doing this right!! ;) But i would be really grateful for some advice.
I have two female Honey Gouramis and 4 tetras. A few days ago I noticed one of the female gouramis looking lethargic and slightly drained of colour, she was hiding by the filter and in the plants but was coming out to eat when I fed the tank. Yesterday evening I noticed some kind of black growth thing on her side (I am unsure of what exactly it is). I have dosed the tank with some anti-fungal and white-spot medicine that I had. I have tested the water and all seems fine. All the other fish in the tank are showing no signs of illness. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on what might be wrong with her and what I should do to treat her? I also have a hospital tank that I can move her into but I'm not sure whether that might cause her more stress and harm than leaving her in the main tank.
Thanks so much!
(I will send photos)

Since I last checked on her she seems to have regained some of her colour but is still hiding behind the filter.
I'm sorry about the awful photo I will try and get a clearer one but hopefully you can see the black growth on her.

Hmm.... It kind of looks like anchor worm to me... Have you noticed anything hanging out of it?

I have retested the water and I think the nitrate levels online might be slightly too high, I will carry out a water change now.

Looking up photos of that online and it doesn't look like it
That's a better photo and I agree... It may well be dwarf gourami disease, look that up and see what you think... A big water change definitely won't hurt

Very unfortunate ? not much you can do about that

Yes, most definitely. I don't know very much about it but I do know it's very contagious and most don't make it out alive. I hope someone more knowledgeable comes along soon

I have been researching it and I think it generally doesn't affect Honey gouramis however i guess it is possible. Also as none of the other fish are showing any signs of being ill I don't think it is!? If anyone had any suggestions for treatment (I don't think she is going to make it but if the others get it i may be able to save them) I would be extremely grateful!

I hope you cure your fish. Honey Chuna's are the nicest little gourami's there ever was but they are a bit delicate. They prefer water that is a bit warmer than most fish, about 78 to 80 degrees F., somewhat soft and very still. They are also timid and docile. They do better without other fish darting around and spooking them. They are perfect for a species only set up. If you cater to them you will have a beautiful fish that will give you a lot of enjoyment.
