Sick guppy

I do have strip tests that I use, & with the shop saying my water was ok, I'd checked in two ways I thought. But we went back & told them and some of the tanks were under quarantine which kind of suggested it was an illness from the fish. They excepted responsibility but obviously doesn't help the dead fish, they just gave us some new ones & we treated the tank. I'll have to reconsider having guppies all though my dad always used to keep them with the same water supplier. Thank you for your help
