Since I am new to Betta's I'm not sure what to do here.

There seems to be something wrong with his mouth... it looks like there is some sort of white thing on the side that is not letting him close it.

He's eating fine, and is active. Could it be a fungas? What I can get to treat him?

:dunno: :dunno:

HELP!

Without a pic, I would suspect columnaris. An antibiotic is needed.

Yeah,definitely need a pic.

Also, how often are his water changes done, and diet? I'll admit I have pretty highly demanding fish :/ He may just be stressed from changes and it's making him vulnerable to illness and fungus :-(

Best pictures I could get!

:-(

Is it fuzzy? That's the craziest thing I've ever seen, his color looks great though

Does he have a hard time breathing from the surface? It looks like it would be diffcult -_-

Anyway, what meds do you have on hand? And if you use any,go very gently with it because he has never had a med in his life. -_-

Also...clean water,clean water,clean water! Always.

EDIT~ Hey, is it gravel?

No, it doesn't look fuzzy.

Doesn't seem to be having a hard time at all... He is still eating like a pig. He just can't close his mouth, its very odd.

All I have is "Complete Remedy" and some Ick meds...

Yeah, the tank has colored rocks on the bottom...
:dunno:

Do you think he might have over strained it or something?

I've just never seen anything like it,but I know the crownies get super aggro when they flare wildly..
Here's one in full attack

But I've never seen it stick like that!

Are you brave enough to see if you can help him move it? :hey: Seriously, I would net him and look closer, possibly gently touch it with your finger and see if it shuts.

Oh man, I can give it a shot... LOL

I never thought about maybe he stressed it.... I did try to keep him in a divided tank with my other Betta, but they flared all the time, so out he went and I bought him his new tank.
Maybe that did it!!! I will net him now and see what it looks like... He is a wild little man though...

I don't know if the same goes for all fish, but I had an angelfish that had something that looked almost identical to what your betta there has. It looked sad, but didn't affect him in any way whatsoever, and he lived for a long time afterwards. He just swam around with his mouth open.

You might try some sort of medicine to see if it's cureable, but if it doesn't seem to be affecting him in a negative way and he's otherwise healthy, I wouldn't stress yourself out too much.
