sick betta

I have a male betta who has been very healthy until this morning. He is mostly laying on bottom, on his side, and goes to top not to eat but seems to be gasping for breath. Always very excited to see me, but too ill today. Can anybody shed some light as to if and how to save Bonsai? Please!!!!!!

have you been feeding him?> if so, how much and what? what is he in? is he in direct sunlight?

What do his fins look like are they clamped together or turning dark on the edges can he still flare?

I'm sorry to hear about your sick betta, but you came to the right place. There are many good betta keepers here and we'll help you all we can.

It will help if you can give us as much information as possible about your fish and the conditions he lives in. Is he new? Is he in a large tank, or a small bowl? What temperature is his water and how often do you change it?

See, it's like going to the doctor..........he can't make a diagnosis without all the facts either.
