my red plakat seems to be ill, he's been acting out of character for about a week now, laying around at teh bottom of his tank, not eating much. this may sound like normal betta behavior but for this little guys its very odd. he userally acts like he's hyped up on sumthing and eats like a pig, but he's lacking the life he once had. iv had him for a while now, adopted him from kelly and he has never been sick, the only thing i could think of is that i did a 100% water change and full cleaning of his tub a few days ago. and that same day i also fed the a special treat !BLOOD WORMS! the blood worms iv had around for a long time, they have been frozen and thawed a countless number of times for probably about 9 months now and i dout they are safe for the fish, hadn't thoght about that until today. anyway, i threw out the worms and at feeding time today he would take his pellets, i think he ate one or two but userally he stuffs himself. after they were all done i did a 50% water change on all the tubs as they needed done anyway, but i did a 75% on the ill plakat boy. to rule out digestive issues in going to be starveing him a few days and perhaps try getting him to take a pea or somthing green. there are no chems in his water now, 100% tap water which has always been fine with all my fish, but im going to be adding some salt water to his and maybe some stress med. anyone have somthing to add?

I would maybe give him a pea so he can poo out all the bad bloodworm quicker.

A drop of garlic oil wouldn't hurt either. I'm really starting to lean towards garlic for everything, as I believe all cures can be found in nature anyway.

If anything, get a clove of garlic and mince it into small pieces, rub it on your finger and swirl your finger in the tank. You might even offer him a small sliver, in my experience they usually eat it without question.

he's looking a little better, still slow thogh, wouldn't take the pea so i just gave him a couple pellets (userally he eats like 5), maybe iv been feeding them all too much. and yes there is pretty much a cure in nature for everything, garlic seems to be pretty popular as a cure for other animal illments along with human sicknesses.

btw wuv, i really like you sig, is that dimebag? :band:

Glad to hear he's chippering up. And yeah, that's Dime :( Yesterday was his birthday.
