why are my female siamese fighting fish ataking each other?

How many do you have in the tank? You need a minimum of 6 ideally, to prevent individuals being singled out and to allow them to form a hierarchy where everyone gets on.

Females do also fight but if they have been in the same tank all their lives they should be fine. I've had a problem when I removed one for awhile and when I returned her to the main tank, all the others flared up at her.

Also are you sure you don't have young males?

i have a golden algae eater and he dosen't bother any of my fish and i specialise in catfish!

i have had them for 2 years they are females.

would it be possible for you to get some pictures of each of your females please? i had a group of 5 females for over a year and 2 of them where male i still have 1 of those males another year later.

+1, one LFS near me recently had a special offer on female bettas - a close inspection of the tank revealed a lot of short finned males in there too.

it is becoming very common which is quite sad on the rare occasion my LFS has a female shipment, i usually take most of the males and females too
