I want to add a siamese fighting fish (male) to my tank. Are there any fish they do not mix well with (apart from another male)? Also any advice on keeping them in general?

Thanks :dunno:

Most community fish will be compatible with a fighter. Just avoid known fin nippers, such as tiger barbs and the like.
What do you want to know about Siamese Fighting fish?

Just do the same as the betta fish rules as they are the same fish. just a different name in which ever country your in.

If you place this fish in with any other fish which comes from the same species they may fight . but the Betta/Siamese fighting fish will win as it will fight to the death.

O.K. here goes.
Siamese Fighting Fish, also known as the Betta Splendens. It come in the family of the Belontidae.
They are originally from South east Asia and their main diet are worms, crustaceans, insects. They will also eat dried food. They enjoy a water temp. of arond 26 deg. centigrade. They should be kept one male to three females. They are bubblenesters, and they are atmospheric breathers as well as water breathers.
Anything else? :fun:

Are you adding a short-fin betta or a fancy long-fin to the tank?

so could i add a fighter to my 40 gal. it already has neons and a pleco in it ?
