hi i am all new to this forum so u no lol but can any 1 help me because recently i have perchased 3 siamese fighting fish 1 male and 2 females but the male will not have anything to do with them he just goes and hides in all the rock caverns and the females try and find him but when they do he swims away. can any one help me what shall i do?

firstly you have to condition your chosen pair on high protein food like live bloodworm and other live foods, for this they will need to be seperate, then use the search function, there have been a few of these topics recently so should find them informative, then go to the betta section if you still have questions

Separate all three fish at this moment. Males need to be in the proper mood for this. Also the females should go into their own containers as well for the moment, becuase if you leave just the two together there is a possibility of them fighting one another to the death.
Try posting down in the Betta Forum Section as there is much more experience with bettas down there.

Bettas can be a difficult thing to try.
Best of luck! :good:

the male and female should never be keept together except when breeding. and the male can never go with another male or female for long time. you have to wait until the male makes a bubble nest then move one female into there and they will breed then leave the female and let the male make another bubble nest then let the other female go to that one. then remove the male if he trys to destroy the nests. but other than that good luck.

take them alll out and put them in there own tanks,Feed them on live fooods for 2 weeks and after that time add the male to the breeding tank with 6inch of water in.An hour later add ONE female an put her in a cut pop bottle so male cant get to her.He then should start making a bubblenest and then you can release the female.Once spawned has taken place and finished remove the female.Remember you should have food for the fry ready. And it Has to be live food.Microworms are the easiest food to culture.I suggest you doing some proper research beofre even attempting to breed them it sounds like you havnt read up about it at all.

As everyone else has already said.
You need to seperate them NOW.
You can't just stick bettas together and expect them to breed like every other fish.

There are numerous posts here you can search for that will tell you what you need to know about breeding along with a lot of other sites.
You need to do as much research as possible. Make sure you have the time AND the money to bring up betta fry b/c once again, they're not your typical fish where you can just keep all the fry together forever in a tank. When they get large enough to sex, you're going to have to seperate every single male into their own seperate container. And that means all of those containers are going to need water changes every single day.

You need to think long and hard before you get into it. It's not something that you should be doing just b/c you think it would be cool to do.

I agree with Amunet. Do you have fry food ready? Because that in itself takes time to grow and harvest...there's so many factors that you need to consider before even thinking about spawning.

I agree. I did not Brine Shrimp eggs when I bred mine and all my fry are gone. Just goes to show, you can never be to prepared  well for breeding fish that is

with breeding bettas theres not a simple way round things, its all time consuming and takes alot of effort.ALso when you e males there waseperatre thrter will need to be heated.I would get a big tub and fill with water put a heater in and an airstone then the jars are put in and wala you have heated jars.

wow thanks every one i did try and research it befor i made the post but i could'nt find any websites with the hole thing and all problems ect. so i desided to post on here so i could get personal advice of all the experianced and i hav the food ect. all i need to do is seperate them into there own tank which i have lol but thanks for all your advice it has been alot of help :thanks:
