Siamese Algae Eater! Crossocheilus Siamensis

If you have a true Siamensis keep them! They are the best and most polite fish of the group, though sometimes they go by "Siamese Flying Fox"
not to be confused with just "Flying Fox." Both the False Siamensis and the non-siamese flying fox stop eating algae when they get older, and
are aggressive to each other, and other fish.

The best article to tell the difference is this one:

And the best video to visualize the True SAE is this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nnJYdLSoso

The best way to tell the diff from the 4 species is the True SAE has clear fins, and the line goes from their nose through their caudal fin.
BUT do not depend solely on the pet store's opinion. I just got my 2 True Siamensis today, and my dealer was convinced they were
"Flying Foxes/Sharks" Oh dear! if only he knew that if he listed them as SAE they would be flying off the shelf faster than a fox.

Be your own best judgment, and bring your smart phone with a picture to the store, and compare. Or a picture handy.

True SAE should be cleaning when you see them in the store, and not just swimming, and they are huddled in groups.
Best to buy between 2-5 if you have the room, they like being in a school.

Siamese algae eaters are lovely fish! <3

Took my little SAE back as having a school/shoal of 5 of them wasnt best for my tank, however my lfs now has large Flying fox's, or False Siamese algae eaters in....are these the kinds that are best kept away from others of their species? As a singleton?
