Shylo

nope, he could only move 1 fin and sunk like a stone :( we did prop him up the top but he just sank and lay there :(

what he said ^^

i wont be getting ANY more fish, until i can get these issues with my tank sorted.

i think the new fish i bought where/when i got shylo from, 3 out of the 5 i bought i lost. but as i also have nitrite/nitrate and ammonia/ammonium issues i am trying to stabilise that too

i've never had issues like this before, obviously had the common white spot, fungus etc, but never had spikes in water or this new disease.

Sorry for your loss, esp as he was looking so lovely. Was the Shirley aquatics actually the Birmingham one. I must admit not been there for a while, has it gone down hill then?

Aww, that sucks. He looked lovely too. Columnaris can be a very quick killer :(

it was, the one in shirley, just by knottcutts.

i'm really suprised though as i use them loads normally

and thanks everyone for the kind messages :)

Oh hun I'm sorry =(

We've probably bumped into each other in Shirley! I seem to spend too much time there.

The fish I've got recently from Shirley seem to have been OK, but for a time hubby and I were wary of "the curse of Shirley" as pretty much everything we bought died in a short time.
The male bettas are housed in their plastic bags with oxygen and bagged up in the morning because it's easier for customers and staff. They can have more bettas out on show and in one place. They get unbagged at the end of the day and housed in little tanks out back (apparently).

I'm not sure why this seems to happen there from time to time because they DO quarentine new fish - that I have witnessed.

now that wouldnt suprise me either as we do frequent there too lol

you can usually spot me and kev a mile off, we're kinda "large" with 2 kids, boy and girl, usually shouting at one of them, or got a moaning cole

i must admit though, i was stunned by the fish dying. its mostly there's i have lost recently though

i suppose one bad batch could be that, just a batch.
