I have a new quairum and when out getting some fish today noticed you can get shrimps for tropical tanks. I really liked the look of them and would like them in my tank, and just wanted opinions from you all of you on if i should get some or not. I spoke to the person in the LFS and he said would be fine to have them.

Would be helpful for the people on here that know about shrimps, to post what fish you currently have, and your tank size.
Also, dont always trust your LFS, unless you know they are a good quality one that actually care for the fish, and not just the profets.

You need to look at what fish you'll be putting in with them. (compatability) otherwise they just might end up as an expensive meal for their so called tank mates. A tight fitting aquarium lid is essential, as they have been known to go walkies.

Sorry to jump into your thread, but i think i'd be interested too.
I currently have 5 neon tetras, 5 x ray tetras, 5 black phantom tetras, 3 mollies, 2 zebra danios, 1 apple snail. Am i compatable too?

depends on the type of shrimp as well, something like ghost shrimp are fine with everything except the smallest fry in some cases. On the other hand there are species with can grow massive and will eat all your fish in no time at all (even somewhat largish fish).

Here is my planted tank

And I take it you mean this type of shrimp or similar
