Shrimp tank

My filter type is a hang-on-back and it also has a sponge intake on the end so nothing gets sucked up.
Another question. Is there anything else I can add to the tank to live with the shrimp but not eat them like snails or something?

Hi

Keep an eye on Nitrates, Above 20ppm RCS are susceptible to disease and infertility.

I suggest you get some Indian Almond Leaves and Blackberry leaves as food for the shrimp.

Vegetables such as Zucchini, Lettuce, Spinach, Shelled cooked Peas, Spinach and Carrots should be part of their diet

Increased to what?

The optimum aquarium temperature for Red Cherry Shrimp is around 77-81°F (25-27°C). Higher temperatures will lead to faster growth and reproduction rates. However higher temperatures reduces dissolved oxygen and stocking will need to be lowered. 86°F (30°C) is the upper limit tolerated by RCS but at this point the water needs to be aerated and the tank cannot be overstocked. RCS can survive temperatures lower than 77°F but they are unlikely to breed and have a higher chance of catching disease.

Yes, i inclreased it to 30! It was 25 before and they didn’t reproduce. At 30, i have so many babies i dont know what to do with them...i feel really bad when i think of feeding my betta with them.
Where do i buy indian almond leaves?

30 is way to warm for the shrimp drop it back to 26.
Is the Betta in the tank with them?

Ebay, Amazon, or your LFS might have them.

Normally he is, but he has been sick recently (finrot), and i kept him in a separate bowl. But although they share one tank, there is a divider (my fish ate my first shrimps very quickly).

Thanks!

Sorry my responses in blue, idk how to use this quote thing

Finrot? Part of the problem is the high water temperature,
Please start a new post about about it so we dont hijack this thread
