Hi.

I'm curious for those who've kept shrimp specifically long-term, is there a way to control the population other than, selling them, or using them to feed big fish?
Is there a way to slow down or prevent breeding or, internally control population?

Online, I've read that each amano shrimp should have 10 gallons to itself. Yet I see shrimp keepers on youtube with shrimp tanks FULL where they're all on top of each other. Is it ok to keep dense shrimp colognes or not?

I cannot imagine people buying them everyday, so I'd like to know other options also.

Thanks

Shrimp have a very small bioload so there can be a lot of them. Amano shrimp don't reproduce in fresh water. Shrimp populations will stop growing eventually.

That is good news for my cherry and blue dream tank. I could have sworn I saw a baby Amano last night in my guppy tank but perhaps it was a fish fry as it was evening and low light... Thanks for this info.
