Shrimp In 2gal Tank?

can u keep a small species of shrimp in a 2gal? not like 10 of them or anything, just 1. r cherry shrimp or amano shrimp small enuf? or can u not keep them in a 2gal? plz respond. -heart :wub: , ally86ozzy
 
I dont know a ton about shrimp but from what I remember hearing if you give one gallon for each shrimp you should be fine, so in terms of that you could have 2. As I said though I'm not a shrimp expert, but hopefully someone will see this that will know for sure.
 
ill most likely get 1. ive always been partial to red cherry shrimp. theyre cute 2 me :wub: . just 1 tho... maybe 2... baby shrimpies... boy and gurl... so many choices... but i think ill just get 1. dont want babies in a small tank. but ill just get any small shrimp they hav. -heart :wub: , ally86ozzy
 
You can tell males from females apart easily, depending on the strain. Males are smaller and less colorful in general.

I would keep three males or two females in a 2 gallon.
 
i have 5 shrimp in my 3 gallon. cherrys are very small and reproduce constantly...itd be easy for someone to have 20 shrimp in a 5 gallon. the babies usualy survive so theyre good to throw in any bigger tanks you have
