Looks like a Bamboo Shrimp - does it have 'fans' at the front?
Does it look like this?
So hard to tell by the picture.

Another name for an algae shrimp is Amano or Yamato shrimp. Pic makes it very difficult to tell, though and it does look quite dark.

Any chance of a better picture?

My eye sight is either terrible or you really need a better pic :p

I already have 2 bee shrimp they are black n white stripey and dont look like this :\ iv also got amano, cherry, yellow, orange, green, rednose and glass breeds so im pretty sure its none of those. Pretty stumped to be honest!

It almost reminds me of the Singapore flower shrimp but those get very very big for most shrimp and i don't think it is that big from what you are saying.

This is the tan version and they can get up to 3 1/2"

It does look quite similar to that Singapore flower in the pic above....

You can get a variety of Bumble Bee shrimp and also different grades where colours aren't just as distinctive as on high grade shrimp.

What about a Malayan Shrimp, it could be that?

You could be onto something with that Malayan shrimp idea...here is one that looks just like it

Yeah, if yours looks like that then I'd be pretty confident to say it's a Malayan. There's a couple of different guises of those too, though...

Yes it looks just like that one! Are these rare or hard to look after? Never heard of them to be honest...

I don't think they would need to be treated any differently than any other type of Caridina. Don't know a great deal about them except I haven't seen them for sale in very many places that I know of. So I suppose that might make them quite uncommon round these parts!

i would say that they are going to be VERY sensitive to water changes like pH or temp and that they are not going to be easy like RCS so just make sure your water parameters stay very steady but other than that i would not know because i also do not know a great deal about these shrimp.
