Shrimp Id Please

I believe it's blue variation of the cherry shrimp :D Or at least, very closely related.

They have either been fed dyed food, or their food in their natural habitat makes them blue, as their offspring are a browny colour (wild form)

If you eep them with cherry shrimp, then they might breed with each other. Apparently the babies will be a mix of red and brown. :good:

Hehe I has these too :shifty:

As far as I can tell they are the same as cherrys only blue. They may be dyed this colour im afraid(I have read this on other forums). I'm pretty sure all my wild form cherrys came from one of these as a while back I only had one adult female cherry left and purchased 2 of these blue shrimp (males) from the lfs. One died a few days later and I decided that I just couldnt breed shrimp(still had a half dozen rainbows)and concentrated on breeding galaxy rasboras in that tank. One day I spotted a tiny grey shrimp scurrying along and before long there were loads. Some of mine do get a very dark grey/blue but not as blue as the ones you buy.

HTH

Ah wicked, i'm pretty sure my blues "crossed" with my cherrys. time will tell. :hyper:
