I went to churchdown aquatics today, to find that they have a foot long tiger shovelnose catfish in a 2 or 3ft tank, all on its own! It looks really depressed i dont think it can barely move in that tank.

Someone please come and buy it, as i think its cruel for that size of fish to be in such a small space.

YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT :D.

Sorry but i have no where to put a fish that will grow to 4 feet! These fish really shouldnt be available to the general public, just how many people do you think actually have 16 foot long tanks to house them :(

Yeh i know, really it should be deported, or put to sleep, as i dont think anyone around here will have a big enough tank.

It needs an indoor heated swimming pool lmao.

Ive seen him! he's so cute! I asked the guy some stuff about him cos if he was cheap enough id have bought him and donated him somewhere or something! They want £150 for him tho!! If i had the money id buy him just cos he's so cute... He cant even move in that tiny tank! :( and his mate died a while ago - thats why he's depressed.

Its a damn shame, some how i dont think they will get £150 for him, someone would probably just buy him and throw him in the river or something lmao!

I would have him if theyd donate him, i would give him to my gramp, so he can be put in a 4ft tank, then i would have to create something for him.

Maybe World of water would accept him and put him in one of there big indoor tanks, like there indoor pond.

That would be more humain than his current home, personally i think he should just be put to sleep.

I dont think he should be put to sleep, he's only a baby remember, and he's not done anything to deserve to die bless him!! Someone will buy him :) I cant think they'd donate him cos they would have had to pay a lot of money for him... We should get people to donate a couple of pounds to the 'Save the Shovelnose' (LOL) cause and buy him between the people on the board and donate him to an aquarium somewhere... But i doubt anyone would do that!!lol

£150 is a ridiculas price for a tiger shovelnose, at 12" it shouldnt be any more than £30, £150 is £60 more than i paid for my stingray!

It's probably more that an foot... The tank is at least 2'6 and it fills most of that!! But still, it is a lot of money, and to be perfectly honest, if i wanted a fish like that, i wouldn't buy it from there... No offence to anyone who may have bought one from there! lol

LOL!! It does!! The pond bit isn't so bad!! The big koi thing (bertie or something!lol) is really cute! :D He's about £500 though!!!!!

The only fish i've bought from there are Arnie (betta) cos there were none at Aquatic Habitat and i didnt know they keep them upstairs too!lol And i also got my albino cories from there cos they were about £2 each, they're about £5 at Aquatic Habitat... I need to find a place with QUALITY fish that are also reasonably priced!!! I believe Ponderosa are getting tropical fish soon, and i buy all my bird stuff from there so maybe they'll be better for me :) Less driving too!!!

When this place stocks up with fish send me a PM, yeh the outside bit at churchdown aquatics is ok, and the big white koi is well cool(i think thats the 1 you mean), i asked if they had any betta's but they said Nope, Aquatic Habitats stock is coming in to morrow i think, and they said there getting about 6 or more bettas coming in, but they will be on a 2 week quarantine. Luckily world of water have aload which came in today, and ive reserved mine and picking it up on sunday :D, bloody good job i went in the shop even after i phoned and they said they didnt have any "bettas"(they did, but the guy didnt know much, and they were labelled in the shop as "Siamese fighting fish" lmao.

Im at Ponderosa all the time for bird food so i shall let you know when they get their fish!!! :D They've been saying they're getting them for about a month!!lol

When i sort out a divided tank im getting all my bettas from Aquatic Habitat (apart from one that i may import to get a 'proper' one! :D lol). One of the guys at AH told me he'd help me divide my tank and stuff if i wanted so i really should buy the fish there i guess!!lol

Jess

P.S. Yes, it was the white one i was talking about!!! he's MEAN!!! Scares me when i stand near that pond thing...lol

Yeh, hes crazy he basically like stands up and pops out at the surface lmao and hes a bully, he dont care about the other fish.

I will see how i get on with my betta, if i like them loads i may create my 6gal into a betta tank, but at the moment when i get rid of the fry i want to put it next to my 20gal in my room, and have it as a small community tank.

Lol... I started off with one and thought " Oh, he's pretty, he looks nice in his little tank on his own, just one of them....." Now i want MORE!!!lol

I love bettas, they're such little characters! :D
