Should I Put A Net In My Tank To Keep My Fish A Live!

i have
3 yellow tips
1 pleco
2 male guppies
4 felamle guppies
& my guppies have frys & they just die when born
so should i put a net wall thing to spilt my tanks in half
with the pleco , yellow tips & males in
& put the felmales in the other half

what do you think

What size is the tank in gallons? What are your water stats? I've never heard of yellow tips. Do you have a pic?

What kind of pleco is it? Does it look like this http/www.aquahobby.com/gallery/img/Hypos...ecostomus_2.jpg ? And do these "yellow tip tetras look like this http/badmanstropicalfish.com/gallery/cha...d_tetras_sm.jpg ? It sounds like to me you have a long 20 gallon tank.

A net thing to divide your tank? I'm guessing you mean a divider? If so, you can do that to give the fry a better chance, but the females will still sometimes go to eat their own fry. It might be a better idea to section off a part and then stick the fry in there as you see them born. Or get a breeder net, or small fry tank. You could go ahead with your plan, and that should keep them a little safer, but for them to be the safest you'd have to take the females out of there.

Hi there. After a lot of reading and about 3 months experience with guppies. I find that the mother only really eats her yound if. 1)The fry are born too weak to get away. 2)the fry have no hiding spaces and 3)the mother is hungry(i know fish are hungry all the time but it seems to make a difference)
I fing when i'm breeding guppies (they will breed a lot by the way) that lots of plants help as well as floating plants lifted out of the subtrate and left to float (this provides shelter) really helps survival. Also when feeding i don't use fry food as it can do stuff to the water (this is just what i was told). Instead i grind flakes up to a dust in my fingers.

i have seen frys now about 9 they swim around the bottom & have lots of places to hide they are very small
will they be fine there or should i get a breeder net

how do they eat the food if they are at the bottom of the tank or hiding how do they ate the food the other fish will ate the food first

will the pleco ate the fry
