Should I get a gourami?

Yes it would. Keeping gourami together are not a good idea especially pairs as their mating procedure is a bit violent. You only have space for one anyway.

Update: my female betta was very feisty and has since been moved to her own 3.5 gallon tank so she can’t harass anyone. Everyone else is doing quite well!

I have a community tank with 1 make dwarf coral blue gourami with some guppys, Pakistani loach and galaxy rasboras.
They all get on fine and I havnt had any issues. I have a very densley planted tank which helps. The gourami is a bully and will chase the smaller fish away if they come too close or get in his space but otherwise they are fine together. Initially I was worried about the gourami and his aggression, but over time it has gotten better with far less aggressive behaviour.
