I've been wanting Betta albimarginata forever, and recently they have been popping up more and more on Aquabid... the problem is they're always like $90-$100 a pair, not including shipping. However, I recently started working for my parents (they own a sheet metal/plumbing/air conditioning & heating company... it's literally just about the only job I could find in this town that didn't involve flipping burgers), and while I don't get to work very many hours per week, I still have a little more money than usual lying around... So I was thinking maybe I could treat myself to some expensive fishies :shifty:

Should I? If I were to buy them I would definitely be breeding. I emailed a seller on Aquabid who has tank-raised fish and he said it's not that difficult at all, but the males tend to swallow the eggs the first couple of times. If I move my dwarf gourami to my 29 gallon they could have my well established 10 gallon, and I've got plenty of IAL extract for them... Ugh, I'm so conflicted! :/

Synirr, go for it! Think of it as a reward for all your hard work. ;)

And post pics when you get them.

Do it!

And you'll make a huge profit if you breed them, think about it, $100 or so for the pair, but once you start breeding, thousands! Selling on Aquabid and on here, and everywhere else!

Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!

I take it they look like this

Do it  You deserve a treat for all those betta babies you shipped out. If you need help getting rid of some bidders I may know some people :hey:

I read the topic, "Should I be bad?", immediately think, "Yes!", which is quickly followed by, "Wait, what was the question?"

Call it an early/late birthday present. *nods*

Congrats on the new job and extra money. You should go for it! After shipping all of those fish to us, you should treat yourself. What do these fish look like, I have no clue. My student loan money came in yesterday, and I finally don't have to worry about the rest of my education, so money is always great to have a round.

You already have all the breeding equipment youl need (more or less), and think how much money you will get back!! You'd only need to sell a couple of pairs and you will have made back everything on breeding and the original pair. Go for it!

A lot of people on here trust you and love your fishes too, so selling shouldnt be a problem. Good luck and i cant wait to ee piccies!

oh man synirr go for it. here is a list of people you may want to contact to get them for a cheaper price.
mark denaro at anubias design
william at siamcrowntail

I live with my parents, and if they would let me get a job, my whole room would be a huge fish tank. I would put every dime I got into getting fish stuff.

So I say, Hell yeah, spend your money on expensive fishies. :)

No, don't do it  Like, what kind of question is that? "Should I buy an awesome pair of bettas". Did you really THINK any of us would say not too? You should know better! LoL :p :D

Seems to me like this could wind up a good financial investment despite the initial cost. If you can sucessfully breed them, I bet you can guarentee at least quadruple that much back in sales at this board alone!
