shortening intake tube for filter

I was wondering if I can cut it off say... half of it and still have a working, adequete water flow into the filter?

What kind of filter is it? If it is an HOB, then yes you can.....just remember to cut the spigot, not the bell off... Good Luck!

HOB means hang on the back filter. Does it sit on the back of your tank?

Are you cutting it or shortening it by taking tubing pieces out? If you are cutting it you should put something like nylon netting over the end to make sure large hunks of stuff don't get sucked into your filter to ruin it.
