Shop Says No Need For Dechlorinator.

when i went to my nearest aquatic shop yesterday , i watched them fill the tanks up with a hosepipe,when i asked him about it,he said ,that in his shop all he uses is tapwater,cold,and no decholrinator,he said thers no need, now the last 2 fish i got from there died within 3 days ,is this really correct,coz it doesnt to me, north east shops are crap

Many people here on the forum don't use dechlorinator, I personally do to be on the safeside and would recommend doing. Dechlorinator does not only remove Chlorine but heavy metals and other things.

Dechlorintor is not absolutely necessary for a succesful aquarium

The owner is quite right, on mature systems dechlorinator isn't necessary on water changes of 25% or less of the total aquarium volume.
