Good for you m8, more shops should be reported for neglect :good:

Good Luck.

Whats a bn ? and sspca ?

I am not taking the mick, just want to know.I gues the sspca is the Scottish something for protection of animals, but no idea on bn.I think it is a good thing that you are reporting shops that do not properly look after their fish, or any other creatures come to that.

Cheers,

Jon :good:

bn= bristle nose

I would hazard a guess at it being the same as the RSPCA but without the R. :D

Well done for reporting them mate!

Mike

They were the easy bits :hyper:

@OP nice one mate but next time I wouldn't ring them with a warning it kind of defeats the purpose and wastes the inspectors time....

I must admit I did struggle to read that too, When i first joined this forum someone got moaned at for text speak :/

Anyway I get the jist of what your saying, and well done to you x :good:

Those BN's have been in for weeks, think it was the price tbh - I looked at them when they first came in and Will wasn't in so was asking the dolly guy to double check the price..

The tank care isn't the best, but I haven't had a problem with fish from there before. Yet again, I'm not likely to spend £15 on a fish that I already know is dying. Good on you for trying to save it, but obviously wasn't worth it. The water and things are conditioned, water changes are done, fish are fed and what they've been fed is listed on the tanks with times etc.. not much the sspca will do.

theres a pet shop near me with dead fish in nearly every tank and infested with white spot...
i think ill follow your lead...

Pity that fish can't scream at humans sometimes. They might actually get some attention in such shops.

I have no idea what you just said...even with the excuse for spelling, so using a spell check might be a good idea.

LOL it's better than some call centres I've had to ring! :)

TBH I think one of the worse shops to sell fish is Pets at home near me. the fish always look way too young and you always see a few dead or dying floating around - it's a shame. :( Every fish I've purchased from them hasn't lasted more than 6 months so I refuse to buy live stock from there.

I had no idea you could report abuse of fish to sspca. Someone should call them on wal-marts. They are the worst the people who work there know diddly about fish. and tanks are over crowded and fish that should be kept apart aren't. At the store I worked at they kept green spotted puffers with some bala shark. those poor sharks fins looked aweful and there was nothin I could do for them. I scooped out at leaat 100 dead goldfish everyday. and puff eyes white spots fin rot you name it fish had it. although tiger barbs did really well :hey:

Well..... I didn't understand everything you were trying to say, but got the basics.
Good for you for reporting the shop! Hopefully something will be done about it.
