Can't believe what I just seen... Videos on YouTube of people's Oscar that are up to 10 inch being kept in tanks of 10 and 20 gallons :( they seem to think this is fine and that if is good enough for an Oscar for life... I even seen a video of 2 oscars in a 30 gallon and I went through the comments and the owner thinks this is fine for life because "the fish are happy"... His words... And a video of 2 decent sized silver arowanas in a 90 gallon, again with no intentions of purchasing something bigger later on. I don't get why some people get these fish without the appropriate tanks. Ok I understand that's it their tank and so their choice to what goes in it but surely this is not right :(

There are some absolutely horrendous things on Youtube.
Absolutely disgusting examples of animal cruelty

Some people are just ignorant. In this day in age there is no excuses for getting things so wrong. With information so easily available nowadays, internet, smartphones etc, it astonishes me that people still go into hobbies blind without a second of research and then continue when they are told things are wrong.

Saw a video yesterday of someone with a massive, gushing leak in their tank. The tank can't have been more than 100L at the absolute most and had three one foot long fish in it, no decorations, substrate or anything. All I could think was that at least they had to get a new tank now, but in reality I knew their new tank probably wouldn't be any bigger. On the contrary, if my tank developed a leak like that I'd be running around in an absolute panic, not start filming it.

It is just wrong. My 3-4 inch Oscar is in my 55 gallon at the moment but he/she is going into either a rio 300 (350 litre) or maybe even a juwel vision 450 (450 litre) withing the next 2-3 weeks. If I get the 350 litre it's going to be off a friend and iv just got to wait til he gets his new tank (to put his fish into) and then I can have his which he has told me will be 2 weeks :)

Yeah there is just no reasoning to why someone would start to film a leaking tank :(

My two 8 inch oscars went from living in a 47g tank at the previous owner, to a 125g castle. 125g may not be enough in the future but its a dang good start!

125 should be big enough if all you have in there are the oscars :) I only have 1 Oscar, my tiger. I did have an albino Oscar at the same size of 3-4 inches but rehomed him/her because they were in a 55 gal and I know this is too small. I would of kept it if i knew I was going to have the money I have now for a new tank... Ah well
