i am so proud of our dog, she passed her obedience training the other day and i am very proud of her. It was a long seven weeks, but i see a difference in her and myself.
anyways here is a picture of the happy graduate.

Congrats!! Our new obedience class starts April 5. It will be interesting to see what kind of dogs we get in for the class. I get excited this time of year! lol

i second the nomination!
well done and congratulations to both of you!
cheers

Congratualations to you both - are you going to do any further training?

And Shelby, don't suppose there is any chance of you making a journel type thing out of your next training course - would love to watch the progress of all those dogs you are about to train

That might be kind of interesting. It is going to be a very small class I think considering this is the first time we've ever offered it through the local park district. I think only 3 people. Small is nice sometimes though because you can spend more time with each person!

training can be a real pain. good luck, i'm trying to train my father in law at the moment. the dog has established himself as pack leader and more recently started getting more and more agressive towards visitors, natural behaviour as a pack leader, so we're training the owner to act as pack leader...

congrats on your dog passing!

:p does that mean your father-in-law will get more and more aggressive towards visitors :fun: sorry, couldn't resist

it's ok, she's deaf, and can't use a TV without help, nevermind the internet.

anyway, back on topic.....

What would you consider the most important aspects of training a dog? what is it most important to be doing? (or not doing, or make the dog do or not do)
